Pomegranate Juice is Wonderful
Thank you all for you great support and positive energy for the next chapter in my life! It’s much appreciated
DC treated me well, and while I was sad to leave, I know I have some new memories to make!
But I didn’t leave without making use of some fun blog goodies!
At the door this week was another lovely treasure with my name on it: Pomegranate Juice from POM Wonderful.
I know Pomegranate juice was good for me, and I knew it had something to do with antioxidants. But I had no idea just how great this POM Juice could be. So I did some research. Now, let’s spill the facts:
Pomegranate juice is extremely high in antioxidants, which help fight off molecules that can damage cells in your body, called “Free Radicals.”
This is important because free radicals are EVERYWHERE. Your body produces them as part of your normal metabolism, but there are also many environmental sources: air pollution, alcohol, pesticides, sunlight, tobacco smoke, stressful lives, drugs and fried foods.
And because these free radicals damage cells, they leave you susceptible to serious diseases and illness, like cancer or heart disease or lead to smaller problems, like premature aging and good vision.
That’s why we fight back with anti-oxidants. A balanced diet can be full of them: goji berries, cacao, blueberries, grapes, red wine, citrus fruits, etc all are loaded with antioxidants.
As is Pomegranate Juice! So thank you POM
Some Recipes Maybe??
Pomegranate has a tart taste, similar to cranberry juice. And of course the first thing that comes to mind is a cocktail, but lets see if we can do better….
The first thing I made was a smoothie. And you can add POM juice to any smoothie you usually make. This one had Amazing Grass, Hemp Protein Powder, Cacao, Banana, and POM juice. It was a great way to start my morning.
I also made a deliciously simple dressing with equal parts walnut oil, apple cider vinegar, and POM juice plus a dash of dijon mustard. Kind of a mixture of 2:2:2:1. It was great on mixed greens and spinach with a ton of veggies.

I have yet to try POM. I do not leave any time for myself in the mornings. I am not a morning person, but I get to work by 7 am. So, if I don't workout, I get up with about 40 mins to get ready and get to the office, which is where I eat my oatmeal.
The POM parfait looks amazing!
I have absolutely zero breakfast loyalties… haha. Sometimes I have smoothes, or cereal, or oats, or coffee… or veggies or salad!
What a neat idea to add the POM juice to your oats!
I usually pack my breakast to have at work or I probably would end up skipping it. I always feel like I lug so much to work but it is worth it, otherwise I would be starving.
I don't change up my breakfasts all that much…Greek yogurt, peanut butter, and bananas or berries are usually included in some way!
I try to make a point of leaving time every morning for a good breakfast. I love a couple different dishes – mostly involving banana and peanut butter in some form!

Your breakfast looks so tasty
(can't go wrong with cacao nibs!)
I usually eat the same thing for breakfast every morning (I know, a bit boring!): Kashi's Honey-Almond-Flax Go Lean Crunch cereal with vanilla almond milk. I love eating breakfast while reading the paper before work!
