Raw Monday: Sprouted Spicy Sunflower Seeds

3

Say that 10 times fast!

I hope all of you had great weekends. I did more moving stuff–although this time in was shopping. Tomorrow I’ll share some pictures!

But today, I want to share a fun raw recipe in honor of Raw Monday. These are sprouted sunflower seeds that I seasoned very well and then dehydrated. I wanted something really easy to snack on, something to throw on top of salads to spice it up a bit, and I wanted it to be really healthy–which is why I sprouted the seeds.

I also wanted to make something savory, not sweet. The sweet things I make disappear too easily! These I’ve been snacking on– but not inhaling. This is good.

Sprouted Spicy Sunflower Seeds:
2 cups sunflower seeds
1 Tbs Turmeric
1 Tbs Coriander
3 Tbs Olive Oil
1/2 Tbs Sea Salt
1/8 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1/2 cup chopped parsley
To sprout sunflower seeds: First soak overnight for 8 hours. In the morning strain on a mesh strainer for 8 hours. That evening, mix sunflower seeds with spices and let sit for 30 minutes. Then place on dehydrator trays and dehydrate at 105 degrees for 36 hours (a day and a half.

I’m going to mix mine with some savory popcorn while I watch Robin Hood. Mmm mm. And for Monday’s lunch, they’ll make an appearance in my Raw Monday lunch salad!

See you all tomorrow! <3k

That looks delicious! I want some for Christmas :)
P.S. I agree with the salty things not going as fast as the sweet…the sweet things can't seem to last more than a minute – nice solution.
